Fernando Domínguez, clarinet and bass clarinet
Is currently the leading exponent of the contemporary repertoire for clarinet in Mexico. His interest in this genre has led him to worl closely with a great number of important mexican composers, ranging from the established generation to the young generation as well. Very mmany of these composers have dedicated their Works to him, such as Ignacio Baca Lobera, Juan Trigos, Carlos Sánchez Gutiérrez etc.
He is a member of Onix Ensemble, Mexico City Woowwind Quintet, Trio Neos and Duplum Duo. Withe these groups he has given numberless performances in Mexico and abroad.
He is a graduate of the Vienna State Conservatory where he studied with Roger Salander. Subsequently, he completed a specialization in bass clarinet and contemporary music with Harry Sparnaay at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. In 2011 he also obtained a Bachelor´s degree from National University School of Music where he is currently a faculty member.
In 2016 his CD Negro fuego cruzado (Black Crossfire) was released by URTEXT digital classics. This recording presents works for bass clarinet exclusevely. All Works have been dedicated to Fernando Domínguez.
